Default One thing I really like about Yosemite

The new dock makes it easier to know which apps are currently open because the little black dot is much easier to see than the white light of the old dock.

I just downloaded iTunes 12.1, love it! It is so clean looking compared to 11, although I don't know why the icon is red. That is a bit unusual.

I use to mistake the Mac App Store icon for the iTunes icon, because both were blue and round. That might be one reason they changed the icon. (Also, it now matches the red music icon on iOS). But now with the redesign of the Safari icon, I might mistake it for the MAS

Apple needs to stop making icons look so similar.

My Yosemite installation went by pretty painlessly this afternoon. The download took a while, but the installation itself was all good.

I'm liking the look so far.

I have Lion right now. How big of an undertaking would it be to upgrade to Yosemite and do I really need to?

If you've got enough disk space, then it should be a go.

Read this before you do anything, though...

The thing you like about it is about the only thing I noticed different about it.

Though,... the icons used to have a glow of sorts when programs were open.

The new OS looks more like a theme pack to me... Guess I have to do the research to find out what the new features are. I do think the family sharing will be great for our family as my kids have ios devices.

Do we really need two threads about Yosemite?

Eh....I just use Command+Tab to see my open Apps. I use the same to toggle/quit/close them quickly as well.

This is not a new feature though.

I'm aware, and I use that feature to switch between apps, but lookng at the dock is quicker and you don't have to press any keys. Also to "close them quickly" I made my own Automator service that closes all open apps at once, and turn used BetterTouchTool to map that function to my Magic Trackpad. I just have to click the pad with four fingers to activate the service and close all my open apps. It's pretty sweet!

Totally different topics though. That thread was about what your thoughts are of the UPCOMING update. This is about what you think of it NOW THAT YOURE ACTUALLY USING IT, and also what your favorite features are. I've noticed several threads over the past few months ruined by being merged together. Just because they share the same word doesn't mean they are the same thing and should be kept separate.

For sure on the Automator! As for the Dock, yes I agree it is easier to see what is open, but for me, I hide the Dock.

Since I upgraded, literally every single webpage with embedded video has given me an unresponsive script message in Firefox. All my plug-ins are up to date. I'm not sure how/why there is a connection between site script errors and OS updates, but I can't think of another explanation. It's really driving me crazy! Anyone else having this issue? Oh, and neither Toast 11 or 12 work now.
