Default Intruders (New BBC Show)

BBC AMERICA'S "INTRUDERS" PULLS 1.223 MILLION VIEWERS

BBC AMERICA'S HIGHEST RATED NEW SERIES PREMIERE FOR SUPERNATURAL SATURDAY IN LIVE+3-DAY

BBC AMERICA's new eight part paranormal thriller, Intruders, delivers the channel its biggest Supernatural Saturday series premiere ever in Live+3-Day, earning 1.223 million Total Viewers and 623,000 in A25-54. Its +77% growth among A25-54 over its Live+SD ranks ahead of the series premieres of both Atlantis (+38%) and Orphan Black (+29%). The series premiered on Saturday, August 23, 10:00pm ET and is the channel's second highest series premiere ever in Live+3-Day.

From writer and executive producer Glen Morgan (The X-Files), Intruders is about a secret society devoted to chasing immortality by seeking refuge in the bodies of others. Starring John Simm, Mira Sorvino, James Frain, Millie Brown and Tory Kittles, the series is based on British novelist Michael Marshall Smith's 'The Intruders' and produced by BBC Worldwide Productions.

Notes to Editors:

In Live+SD, Intruders 10:00pm premiere delivered 796,000 total viewers and 352,000 A25-54. The premiere is on par with the season one premiere of Orphan Black.

Over 1 million total viewers Live+SD Cume* tuned in for BBC AMERICA's new eight part paranormal thriller, Intruders, which helped deliver BBC AMERICA its highest rated Saturday night ever.

*Cumulative includes two replays for the night (2:00am and 5:00am ET)

I thought the first episode was promising. I had not realized until the credits that it is based on the novel by Michael Marshall Smith which I'd read several years ago. Luckily, I don't remember it too well.

The book was mediocre but should make entertaining TV. Michael Marshall Smith's been on a pretty much downward trajectory since his brilliant first novel, Only Forward, and his attempts to crack the lucrative American thriller market never seem convincing to me, though the enjoyably bonkers Straw Men trilogy would make a good series

The wife and I watched the first episode and like it. This show looks promising. Will Robert Forster be in this series going forward? I'm a big fan of his, and was surprised to see him in this.

I'm really liking this.

From the upcoming clips, Jack must think everyone's gone insane.

Watched the first 20 minutes and then gave up, Hugely dull, annoying white-washy instagram-style camera work and a bunch of moments that stuck out as being "weird for the sake of being weird". Amateurish. Did anybody make it to the end?

Yes, I watched it until the end. I really liked it -- it just maintained a really creepy mood to me. I hope there's a second season.

Watched the first episode of Intruders (it's airing on BBC Two on Monday nights). The series started with a double bill this week. A lot of stuff was going on, very confusing but still very watchable. Noticed Darin Morgan's name in the title sequence. Did he write some of the episodes in this series?

Halfway through the series Intruders (the fourth episode was shown on BBC Two tonight). Really getting into this series now, but most of it still doesn't make a lot of sense.

Intruders has been moved to late Saturday nights on BBC Two. The first five episodes were shown on Monday nights, with the next episode being shown in a later timeslot from tonight. The ratings must not have been good enough in that timeslot for the channel (it should have been shown on BBC Three or BBC Four instead. BBC Three showed Orphan Black).

The last I watched was when the guy and his friend snuck onto the mansion's yard and watched his wife through the window helping perform the mummification.
Has the show gotten any better?

One more episode left to watch of Intruders, and the story has kept me interested. Is there any sign yet of the show being renewed for a second season?
