Default I read this on the HD-DVD forum......

Now that we got that outta the way, let's get to your first question. We first have to ask ourselves "Why?". Why did Disney, and so many other movie studios turn to Blu-ray? The answer is simple... Bootlegs! The one thing that is killing us in the format war is the Disc Protection. We have none. Blu-ray is encoded with a special copy protection that movie studios are in love with, and by their own right, they should be. It saves them hundreds of billions of dollars per year. It doesn't save us a dime though.

If Blu-ray wins the format war we will never be able to buy bootleg HD movies and that just plain sucks for you and me. I'm not saying I buy bootleg movies but don't you think that we should have the choice between $30 dollars and $10 dollars? I mean, do the movie studios have to make all the money? They are even trying to take Bootlegs away from us with this Blu-Ray crappola!

Fight blu-ray to the end! If they win you can say bye bye $10 bootlegs!

I say that no copy protection is HD-DVD's best feature. It will save you thousands over a lifetime.
Can you believe this guy's argument for why HD-DVD is better?

The guy is making an argument for piracy from the tone of it... which is why I'm shocked ANY studios still want to support HD-DVD.

Do any of the execs at any of the studios read this crap? I can't believe they would support a format that is so easily copied, and is the "format of choice" for those who want "bootleg" copies of movies. Wake up Universal, and WB, and Paramount!

Someone really should forward that post to the execs at those studios. Maybe Warner will dump HD DVD sooner as a result. (wishful thinking i know)

Yes but they could just as easily forward the threads where people here talk about ripping off stores with thier BOGO offers as well. I don't want to be considered as part of a "group" that does that either and if people here say all HD DVD supporters are like this guy we're asking for the same treatment.

i've said it many times. hd dvd is essentially saying piracy is ok, by not putting any kind of advanced copy protection on it.

but maybe he was being facesious?

These idiots are so worried about bootlegging movies really don't need to own HDM. They should just stick to DVD's where it should be "good enough" for them bootleggers. That is the lamest and dumbest reason to support HD-DVD.

Can you picture an Ad that looks like this: "If you like Piracy then vote for HD-DVD, it will save you thousands over a lifetime"

Are you referring to me or the guy I quoted?
I don't post on that site. I was just curious what they had to say about blu-ray when I stumbled upon that post.

So when are you going to start strirring up trouble here? You have to know I recognize your name.

Why don't you say some of the same BS here that you said over on the subdemon forum?
