Default The Hills Have Eyes (1977) (Limited Edition)

Just saw it on the facebook - coming in September! Awesome

Quote:
Product Description
THE LUCKY ONES DIED FIRST...

Horror master Wes Craven achieved critical and commercial success with the likes of Scream and A Nightmare on Elm Street but for many genre fans, the director s seminal 1977 effort The Hills Have Eyes remains his masterpiece.

Taking a detour whilst on route to Los Angeles, the Carter family run into trouble when their campervan breaks down in the middle of the desert. Stranded, the family find themselves at the mercy of a group of monstrous cannibals lurking in the surrounding hills. With their lives under threat, the Carters are forced to fight back by any means necessary.

As gruelling a viewing experience today as it was upon initial release, The Hills Have Eyes stands alongside the likes of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre and Night of the Living Dead as one of the defining moments in American horror cinema.

Outstanding! Just outstanding.

I've wanted Wes Craven's The Hills Have Eyes on Blu-ray since I first acquired a Blu-ray player, but I steered clear of the existing disc because of complaints about the presentation. I know that Arrow Video will do us right, though.

Sweet! I can toss my Anchor Bay DVD too.

Should be the first time this movie looks presentable.

The art is a little too busy but it doesn't matter one bit - it's THE HILLS HAVE EYES from Arrow!!

I realize this might provoke the whole, "Who still doesn't have a region-free player?" thing, but now that Arrow's making strides into region A, is it reasonable to hope this release will be so designated?

What are you even asking? Are you in Region C or something? They're releasing this in both the UK and US. This post is in the US forum, so Region A.

Yeah, but what does that have to do with what he asked? It seemed like he thought it might not be Region A compatible.

Yes, that is what I was asking. I'm aware it's a Region A forum, but until recently Arrow wasn't really in the "Region A Business", so I wanted to be sure.

Trust me, if this was really UK-only you would have seen tons of people yelling at the op by now for posting it in this section

Plus the artwork would have had all the UK warning logos plastered all over it which clearly are absent in the above pics.

I already own the current disc but will happily double dip on this one. Unless someone beats me to it in September, I'll try to remember to post comparison pics between the current disc and Arrows once I get it. Should make for a fun bit of complaining about what was released before.

Disappointed it's missing the excellent "The Directors: The Films of Wes Craven" documentary (58:35), but other then that this looks to be a solid release! I'm sure it will wipe the floor with the Anchor Bay up-convert that's for sure.
