I got rid of Flash a while ago. It's a buggy security nightmare that's no longer needed on most sites. However, when YouTube videos are linked on this forum, they're embedded as Flash, even though YouTube itself can now function without it. Any way of changing this?
Thanks. Edit: This is what an embedded video looks like if Flash is not installed. ![]() |

I thought they did already? I started a similar thread a while ago because my Kindle tablet didn't have flash, but eventually embeds started working, and it showed it was through HTML5. Now, Amazon recently updated their browser and embeds don't play anymore (though I still see the video thumbnail) but that's an Amazon issue I think
Here's my original thread: https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...ighlight=html5 I also posted this in another related thread showing that it's using HTML5 ![]() |

Going to post a video in here and try some stuff.
I wonder if it's one of my add-ons doing something. Edit: I don't think it's my add-ons, but I'm still having the same issue. What browser/device are you using, Mifune? Just the Kindle? Last edited by DaBargainHunta; 03-21-2016 at 08:51 PM. |

Right now I've only been on my tablet, but I'll try it on my desktop browser(s) later today and report back.

Yeah, that's my problem... I disabled Flash. I was wondering if the embeds could be changed to HTML5, since YouTube does support that now.

The embeds were showing as HTML5 but are now showing up as Flash. This could also be a YouTube issue.
Testing ... It appears the feature=html5 is getting changed to feature=player_embedded Last edited by rdodolak; 03-22-2016 at 02:36 AM. |

Adobe rolls out emergency Flash update (money.cnn.com)
With that development, can this site please finally make the full switch to HTML5? ![]() |

Looks like this was fixed on the browser level - by Firefox, at least.
