Moderator note: Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs and Shaw was released on 3D Blu-ray in a very limited number of countries, including Germany, France, India, Korea and Japan but not the UK or USA. Like all Universal releases, this is REGION FREE worldwide.

So apparently Hobbs and Shaw is being relased in the theatres in 3d according to fandango listings so there is a real possibility that it will be released on 3d bluray internationally

Yes, a strange one. If it ends up with a Blu-ray though, all the better.

Do I need to have seen the previous fast and the furious films to understand Hobbs and Shaw?

I thought the Fast and Furious films were about car racing. The trailer to this doesn't really look that way. The Blues Brothers is the only car racing movie I need to see.

Universal hasn’t released a 3D Blu-Ray domestically since SKYSCRAPER. MORTAL ENGINES & HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON THE HIDDEN WORLD were only released overseas.

I’m probably mistaken but I thought THE GRINCH was released prior to MORTAL ENGINES.

It was the grinch was released on bluray before mortal engines. I believe the reason morta, engines didn’t get a 3d bluray was because I flopped in the theatres. I think though that universal saw that the grinch didn’t sell enough 3d bluray copies in the United States and as such decided no more 3d blurays would be released by them in the United States!

WOW! What a big surprise

. Never thought any movie of the "Fast & Furious" Franchise could get a 3D release.

This fun & action movie is made for 3D.

I see the listings as well. This means that Hobbs and Shaw will be the first F&F movie to receive a 3D release domestically.

The last couple of F&F movies were released theatrically in 3D in a few places (mainly China) but never made it to 3D blu-ray, so the same may well happen with this one.

And I'm also not holding my breath for a semi-decent conversion. Fate's 3D was weak.

As much as I love this franchise, i am in no rush to see this movie. It feels like the scorpion king to the mummy.
