Hi!
Is there a list somewhere of the companies that filed patents with the Blu Ray format (aka contributed to its creation)? I keep seeing HD DVD zealots throwing around that Sony is the only real pusher of the format and that every other member of the BDA is just about ready to jump ship (yeah, I know...). Was just wondering if such a list existed? ![]() |

http://www.uspto.gov/
1. Select "Patents" on the Left Nav (JavaScript submenu will open) 2. Select "5. Search Patents". (new page opens) 3. Select "Quick Search". (new page opens) 4. Enter keyword "Blu-ray". (try other similar keywords also "bluray") Many other ways to serach the site. Experiment and learn. Your federal tax dollars hard at work. Enjoy! ![]() |

USPTO search is probably not the best route since it is likely the term "Blu-ray", or variations thereof, will actually appear in the patents/patent applications - especially the early ones.
A good idea is to check the BDA website and licensing information to try and figure out what's going on. For example: http://www.blu-raydisc.com/top/searc...cle-14837.html |
