Default The Next Sherlock Holmes Film??

I'm a fan of the Sherlock Holmes films with Robert Downey and Jude Law, are there any plans for a third in the series? I hope so.

Yeah last time I checked they wanted to do The Hound of the Baskervilles or something Frankenstein or Jack The Ripper.

I don't remember where I read the Frankenstein thing though.

I would say it will definitely happen - the question being when. I haven't heard anything recently.

With the second film four years in the past, I see the chances of a third Downey Holmes movie to be getting more and more remote. Shame, as I really like the first two.

Don't worry your cheese crazed head, Jack!

I bet after he gets done with the Marvel stuff, we'll get an announcement.

I don't know why they'd bother. The Robert Downey Jnr Sherlock Holmes is boring. Better to make a Benedict Cumberbatch Sherlock only released in cinemas.

I disagree, I vastly prefer the Downey Jr/ Jude Law movies to the BBC series of which I have only watch the first two series anyway. The BBC one is fine but not very cinematic.

Also I prefer the period setting.

The period setting works but to me the plots are too slow; not enough happens to make me care or be interested.

Its been five years since the last one. I don't think anybody's crying out for another Robert Downey Jnr Sherlock. It hardly has the pull power of Benedict Cumberbatch's superior Sherlock.

Yeah, I'd watch a third one too, it's not like Sherlock Holmes doesn't sell tickets. Downey Jr is a huge pull, these films weren't exactly mega blockbusters, they're nice safe investments at the end of the day.

The Abominable Bride was aired on the big screen so it has already been done with a TV episode anyway, just not a purely cinematic release.
