Saw this a couple weeks ago, and enjoyed it a lot. Great to see Bill Hader stretch, and show some dramatic depth. Very funny and moving performance.

I can't see the video in the first post from work, but this movie is definitely more of a drama with some humor/comedy. When I saw it at the theater a couple of weeks ago, 4 people walked out. I guess they were expecting something different.

In any case, I thought it was quite good. Kristen and Bill certainly gave wonderful performances. (And despite the subject matter, it contains one huge smile-inducing scene.) I would considering buying the BD, especially if it has good extras.

They were expecting something "hilarious," like the commercials touted. I wasn't into it at all but I didn't walk out. The promotion for this was awful.

The trailer didn't make it seem like a comedy to me.

It was a great film. GREAT. Even if it wasn't what you thought, if someone walked out of this, they need to watch Sex Tape and Tammy on a loop for the rest of their lives.

This was a really enjoyable dramady with great performances. I loved Bill Hader and Kristen Wiig in it!

Saw this in the theater. It was pretty solid, but definitely overrated by the critics. If Hader's character wasn't gay, it would be a fairly unremarkable indie.

I enjoyed it for what it is though it is way darker than I expected which isn't a bad thing but don't know if it's something that's re-watchable.

If you pay attention to the blurbs from magazines or reviewers, rather than paying attention to what the dialogue is and what the topic of the film is, you deserve to be disappointed.

The trailer has comedic moments which are in the film, but it's also really clear that there is a lot of pretty serious drama in this movie too.

I thought, considering how small the release was, that the movie actually was making a lot of money per theater, so I guess some people were getting the right message.

Sorry but get off your high horse.
Are you aware of the purpose of promotional material like commercials? people aren't going to remember ANYTHING from that commercial other than the SNL people and the massive words that the studio has splashed across the screen. Two words. Say it with me. AWFUL MARKETING.

Although I wouldn't see Sex Tape or Tammy if you paid me, you don't get a more stereotypically Hollywood ending than Skeleton Twins. It was ridiculous. THAT was the part that made me laugh out loud. So shit all over Hollywood films but your precious Skeleton Twins isn't as indie as you'd like to think it is.

Dude, if anyone is on a high horse it's you.

Besides, I'm haven't even been near a horse in 20 years.

The movie WAS smart and really funny, though and the commercials looked NOTHING like a comedy, no matter what code words they used to try and get people into the theaters.

"Dude," I wasn't the one that essentially said that people who didn't like "your movie" were stupid.

I thought the movie was pretty funny at times but also sad and beautiful. A great film and my favorite of the year. Wiig and Hader nailed it.

With it being released December 16th I'm tempted to ask for it for Christmas but don't think I can wait that long. I'll want it Day 1.

Default Saw it twice in cinemas.

Rarely do I see a movie twice in the cinemas. The chemistry of Hader and Wiig is great and the lip-syncing scene was worth the price of admission the second time. I'll definitely pick this up.

I've seen it twice in theater, four times on VUDU (thanks to the early digital release) so far and I know I'll be watching the Bluray at least twice tomorrow after I pick it up.

A phenomenal film, still my favorite of the year. Whiplash is the only film that came close for me.
