Movies that have HD broadcasts but no Blu-Ray release

Does anyone know of some movies that have had scans made for HDTV shown on HD channels that have yet to come out on Blu-Ray?

one off the top of my head would be Rat Race (2001)...

Don't even bother with a list. You're probably better off making a list of movies that have NEVER been seen in HD. It's very, very small (for post 1980 films).

The other issue is some of the hdtv stuff is just upconverted.

Sky Movies have lots in HD which is not yet on Blu Ray as does MGM and TCM also channel 4 has some films here.

I'd also be very cautious when thinking that just because a film or TV show has an HD master, that it could easily be released on Blu-Ray. Most HD masters aren't up to the quality standards that we've come to expect from the format.

Just bumping this thread because I watched Cadillac Man (1990) staring Robin Williams last night on a HD network. As far as I know Cadillac Man isn't available on Blu-Ray and the broadcast I saw was defenetely a genuine HD master.

Its worth to note that there is quite a few upscales that also get broadcasted on HD channels which have no Blu-Ray release, but those don't count.

Like Blu-21 said, just because some films are shown in HD doesn't mean it's in HD. More likely the HD broadcast of Gay Purr-ee was an upscale. TCM also shows The Pink Panther ocassionly and they still use that awful worn-out master especially since it was already restored and seen on other channels (albeit cropped).

What about older shows in HD on Netflix that haven't had a BD release? I've found at least The Rockford Files, Columbo, Hawaii Five-O (original recipe), Mission: Impossible, and Quincy M.E. And Cheers is in 1080p on iTunes.

Netflix has an HD transfer of Switchblade Sisters available for streaming. I'd love to watch it while listening to the Hill/Tarantino duo commentary available on the DVD. Someone make it happen please. Probably never will though, and it's a damn shame.

The 2005 remake of The Fog I don't think is available on Blu-Ray but does have a HD master that was broadcasted last night.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Bad Boys II yet. It has a fantastic eye popping HD master that's been broadcasted many times, it looks sensational.

Ok, I'd definitely pay for that!

Probably Toy Soldiers too. Add Mannequin and Pretty in Pink/Some Kind of Wonderful and I'll die happy(er).

Small Soldiers is another one that has a brilliantly struck HD master that has been used for broadcast, but the film is yet to receive a Blu-Ray release.
