Default PS4 Pro or PSVR?

I thought it would be interesting to see what (if anything) people will be purchasing when this comes out and why?

Did you accidentally vote VR though? 2-1 for VR and I voted Pro.

Anyway, the proper vote should have been "Undecided" since I have to try VR before I ever think about buying it. Just haven't had the opportunity to do so yet. But, there's about a 95% chance I'm buying the Pro, so I went ahead and voted for that.

I'll be getting both. Most likely PSVR first and than a 4K TV with HDR and than the pro.

The PSVR was awesome on the regular PS4 so I'm in nos rush to get a Pro for PSVR.

I recently bought a 4K tv with HDR, so pro is a must after seeing HZD in 4K, plus TLOU in 4K with HDR will look spectacular.

I have a 4K HDR display coming next week to replace my XBR2. Everyday gaming is always going to push the limits of graphics and performance, with PC always being the gold standard, even if UHD remains niche in the home cinema department. I expect VR to remain a niche product in gaming, and it's not something I'm highly interested in, even it goes mainstream. Pro is preordered.

VR is not for me, I'd far rather get the Pro despite some of its drawbacks, so that's my future purchase.

VR needs open world games to get me interested in it, moving beyond many of the novelty VR games I've seen listed.

I need to see the differences side by side at a store to see what the PS4 Pro is offering. If the difference is subtle for most games, I'll pass. If the difference is like comparing a PS3 to a PS4, then I'd buy it.

Right now it seem subtle but I'm guessing games released at the end of 2017 will start to really look amazing. Besides the few AAA games coming out soon like HZD and FFXV.

I don't know about watching movies on PSVR, it'll look worse than watching one on the TV, yes it'll be like looking at a 100"+ screen but with much lower picture quality. I'm just not sure that's going to be much more than a one time try just to say you've done it. I couldn't see it becoming the go to way to watch any films.

I'm undecided on both to be honest. I'm most likely going to get Pro before I get PSVR, if I get that at all.

I'm in the fortunate position of having a friend who has already paid for the VR so I'll be going around his place on the 13th to play it. But since I have a 4K HDR TV it would be stupid not to get the Pro.

Yup. It'll never really catch on.

What did you spring for after? Here are some good sources for some demo material to try out on it when it arrives.

I went with the Sony. I'm pretty sure I'm paying too much, but I have no kids to leave my money to, so I'm okay with it. At the time I ordered, I still found not reports of input lag, but I have no short term plans for competitive gaming, so it should not be a big deal.

Neither for now.

Maybe a Pro down the line when it's cheaper. Would have pre-ordered it if it had UHD disc playback though.

Not sure I'm interested in PSVR. One day I'm sure VR will be great, once it's more similar to wearing contact lenses than to wearing a TV on your head.

Voted "Not getting either of them" It does not mean that there is no chance of me getting either. But just my attitude now

In my experience expensive add-on accessories don't do well and so I need to see that
1) it adds a lot to game play
2) that it will really be supported by the studios (a lot of games with native support using it to the max).

I just don't feel like spending 400 USD+ for something that might only be interesting on one mediocre title in a mediocre way.

As for the pro, if my PS4 brakes then for sure, but from what they said it won't play UHD-BDs so useless for films since I am not interested in streaming/DL and so no better then the PS4 I have now. As for games it will upscale (but my TV does that now) but it might do that better with patches to games. But until such patches come out it is questionable if it adds anything and even if it does we need to know how well it will be supported by the game developers in order to know if it adds anything.
