I had the DVD copy in my hand just yesterday wondering if it was ever going to get a decent HD upgrade and here we are. Glad to cross it off my wishlist.

I had a feeling that Shout had this when in the Kino thread somebody asked Kino Insdier if they had "Get Shorty" but they replied that it wasn't available. Nice surprise, if it's a new scan I might consider.

Kind of an odd choice for a CE to be honest. The old release was surprisingly stacked as far as extras went, and the PQ looked pretty good .

While I am somewhat excited for this announcement (as I never bought the first release) it better have a new scan. Unless of course the old one (currently $7 on amazon, pretty stacked with features) immediately goes out of print, there is really no incentive here. And I am usually not a naysayer of these types of releases.

Then again, regarding a new scan, this site gives the first release a 4/5, but I feel like a 2011 4 is not that same as a 2018 4. At least a portion of the time.

Shout is killing it this year with their releases. Not worth a buy though at the price.

It's sort of like with "City Slickers" both have pretty good video presentations and have a healthy supply of supplements.

What with MGM's new trend of more 4K masters I wouldn't be surprised. It would be nice to get some Don Bluth love for a Shout Select of "The Secret of NIHM" and "All Dogs Go to Heaven".

I hope that Plague Dogs sell well enough to make Shout explore more animation. Because there's a lot that needs better treatment (Nihm, American Tail) or just needs to be put on Blu-ray (Prince of Egypt, Titan AE, Powerpuff Girls Movie).

It kills me they couldn't have shifted the cover art a little to the right to accommodate the end of the poster, as right now it's cut off by the end... That being said, it's a lovely piece of work.

Waiting on supplements to see if it's worth finally upgrading from the DVD!
