Default The potential misconception of studio support

Nice thread on the breakdown of how many US distribution rights the various studios have

If correct this is quite an interesting post from Paintiff77

Quote:
The total United States film catalog (distribution rights for US only) break down as follows.
Number of Titles
Sony Pictures 336
Columbia Pictures 4224
Tri-Star Pictures 241
MGM/United Artist (Purchased By Sony) 1945
Paramount 5370
Universal 5157
Warner Brothers 3019
Warner Brothers MGM Titles via Ted Turner 2572
New-Line Cinema 521
Lionsgate 472
Disney 238
Buena Vista 812
Miramax 93
20th Century FOX 477
Dreamworks 104

BR- HD-DVD
[b]20424 -16743[/b[

If these numbers are true there is potentially less than a %5 delta in the quantity of movies available between the formats. This however doesn't speak to the quality. It is interesting nonetheless.
