Default What are your Top 10 UHDs for Audio Quality?

Just wondering what most people consider the "cream of the crop" for UHD audio quality and what scenes they use to demo their setup for others.

I liked Close Encounters if only for the end sequence. Great sound for that.

I showcase the following:

1. Transformers - {1-5}
2. Cabin in the Woods
3. HP Chamber of Secrets
4. Pacific Rim
5. Kong
6. Starship Troopers
7. The Great Wall
8. Blade Runner 2049
9. iD4
10. King Kong

No real order, they pretty much just wanna hear the sound. And I really can't jump to different disc cause. Once they hear the first movie I put in they wanna watch the wholething. Lol!!
A lot of people think that just because you have a HT system, It have to be LOUD, Not.

Just last week my friend, who been wanting to get a HT system like forever. Finally, brought his wife over the hear my system. But I tricked them, instead of playing my main system. I turned on my Vizio 5.1 system, which is just a sound bar, surrounds & sub.

Note: I did turn my main system amps on to have them think they was going to listen to itNOT Lol

Some of her favorite movies are Transformers. So, she was like "Oh, ok, its loud but not too loud. But we don't need all these speakers though." Ha, I bust her bubble and told her. (after I finish laughing) Your not listening to my main system. Its the small one, It blew her mind, she couldn't believe those little speakers kicked out like that. Then she said, Well, I wanna hear the big speakersYayyyyyyyy.

She was so amazed by it, now she wants a HT system. She like the Vizio cause its small, sounds good and doesn't take up to much space. And its in their budget. But i'm happy cause I got someone into HT. They went to Sam's and brought the Vizio 5.1. Now she wanna re-watch every action movie again

Revenant. It may not have Atmos, but dear god it sounds amazing still. That intro in the river, nothing has made me feel more like i was actually in the environment than that scene.

I just got through with American Made and the DTS-HD MA 7.1 track is one of the best I have ever heard. I can't play DTS:X, but it's definitely a stunner even at MA.

Arrival
Dunkirk
Blade Runner
Batman vs Superman
The Revenant

sadly since Fox didn't include the theatrical Atmos mix - the mix and specifically in recreating the environment of the woods with sound was both intricate and beautiful - there's a shot of the camera looking up through the trees and you can hear the swaying and creaking of the tree limbs by the wind over your head to eerie effect. There's a scene near the end of the movie where a character in the cabin walks offscreen, walks along the left wall up a set of stairs (off screen) and up on the second floor literally over your head. Whose ever decision it was at Fox Home Video to not include said mix deserves the hardest kick to the leg calf over this exclusion.

- Mother!: the whole soundtrack is awash with directionialized sound cues and dialogue.

that's on UHD ??

I assume you're referring to Spielberg's remake - that sound and specifically the scene where the Tripods crest the hill and let's out that horn sound is super scary and makes the hair on your neck stand straight up - and then the chaos ensues (!) wow!
