Germany The Big Sleep and Key Largo - coming to Blu-ray Disc in February?

Okay, this is very, very tentative, and currently only showing at Amazon Germany, but I thought a few people might be interested.

Amazon.de are showing these two Bogart classics as appearing on Blu-ray Disc in February:

The Big Sleep

Key Largo

Excellent news.

You can also get Dark Passage from Amazon.es;

Seeing as it shows Warner Home Video for the studio, I'd say it bodes VERY well that these get an international release. Great find!

So, just to add a word of caution. The Big Sleep has been up for pre-order twice at Amazon.fr, and didn't appear, so this is certainly not a done deal.

However, with Warner clearly working on a number of catalogue titles, especially films noir, a US announcement would be no surprise to anybody, nor would a parallel European release.

well you'd think after 10 years there might be reason for some optimism, but considering how much people have been wanting these films to come out on bd, I won't ever be convinced until they are in my hand.
btw: 70th anniversary for The Big Sleep, so probably will happen after all.

The Big Sleep is a day one necessity. Key Largo? Never was a big fan. It's not bad or anything but not something I would care to revisit again. But keep the catalog titles coming WB. Hopefully these are being worked on alongside new Hithcock. Please.

I want Warner Bros. to release a Bogart/Bacall box set in the same format that they released their recent Special Effects Collection and their Hammer Horror Collection.

Make it happen, Warner, make it happen.

Key Largo is a film I can watch over and over again.

I'd definitely be in for these two, but I still want Sahara. Sahara is Bogart's best film after Casablanca IMHO.

Two absolute classics that need to be on Blu-ray. Hoping for a North American release of each. Mister Roberts is another Warner film that will hopefully someday see its turn in blue.

Good news indeed re: The Big Sleep. Hopefully it comes with both features and the featurette on the DVD, along with some new stuff to sweeten the deal. Key Largo and Dark Passage are fine but I can live without them. Good find, OP.

Did anybody buy the German Big Sleep/Key Largo discs?

If so, can anyone confirm that they have English subs? Know WB put out the same discs worldwide but just wanted to double, double confirm before ordering....

Bought them along with Virgina Woolf.
English SDH subs are available, same as on the WAC version.

So it looks indeed like the same disc worldwide. Just grab the the one you can get the cheapest.
