It sounds really interesting, but I just can't get with English people playing Germans (or Australian, in the case of Clarke) in WWII films that are supposedly telling a true story. I'm imagining Rosamund Pike as Heydrich's wife talking in a refined English accent - either that or trying to put on a ridiculous German imitation, like something out of 'Allo Allo

![]() Anyhow, they don't want to make the movie in German with subtitles is obviously what it comes down to. |

Well, it's certainly better than the original title:

FYI, the article mentioned dates from May 2015, as this film has already been shot, and I actually saw it in a test screening earlier this Summer. The interesting thing of course is that it covers much of the same story as the movie Anthropoid which just released and made me want to see that for comparison (always find it cool to compare similarly themed films made close together). Now I signed that I can't review this movie (and indeed it was clearly in "work in progress" shape when I saw it so that would be unfair) but I suppose I can say the last act of both films play out very similarly, though there are some very different approaches to the story particularly in the first half, and indeed one suggestion I made on my comment card was to change the title. |

It was renamed a while back, when it was submitted to the MPAA.
I can't say I'm surprised. I'm sure that in the US, people would have gone into HHhH and thought it was about 4-H clubs. I would be surprised however if this got a theatrical release in the US. Weinstein has been dumping some of their less mainstream titles (Grace of Monaco, Blindsided, Kristy, Suite Francaise) onto Lifetime and the new title just screams "we're dumping it onto basic cable". |
