Default Your Favorite 'Man Against the Elements' Films

I'm going to be settling down to watch 'The Revenant' tonight, a favorite of mine.

Can you recommend more similar types of films?

Jeremiah Johnson is an obvious comparison, and also a damn great film.

Also see the Richard Harris film Man in the Wilderness.

Plus some notable recent films:
127 Hours
All is Lost
Wild

Walkabout and Naked Prey

Also two great Werner Herzog flicks: Aguire, Wrath of God and Fitscarraldo

ALL IS LOST is so good. The way the story unfolds with almost no dialog really reinforces his solitude.

does The Martian count? because if so, that one's up there
Yeah, The Martian would definitely be near the top of my list if we're counting that. And I don't see why not, really.

As to Castaway, I've never understood what people saw in that film. Then again, I'm not a huge Zemeckis fan. And I can't stand anything with Helen Hunt.

Just watched Jungle starring Daniel Radcliffe from 2017, which is now on Amazon Prime. Based closely on a real story....Good movie imho. Liked the cinematography by Stefan Duscio. The music by Johnny Klimek is also good.

I used to like Helen Hunt as an actress (I know nothing about her as a person). But somebody pointed out to me that she makes weird facial expressions (particularly with her mouth) when she acts.

I never noticed that before and it creeps me out big time. Now I can’t stand to watch her, either.
