![]() ![]() Due to the huge success of "The Last Key"... The studio is moving forward with Insidious 5, it is “unlikely” to be another prequel in the vein of the last two chapters. Stay Tuned |

Good God. They should have stopped after one (or before that, in my opinion).
Even people who like these movies grow less interested with each installment. |

Unlike the conjuring / Annabel movies which I'm not really that big of a fan of anyway, these movies have REALLY aged IMO.
The first movie is boring. The second when I tried watching it was a mess in terms of tone. It turns into an episode of Ghostfacers midway through the movie. What on earth was Wan thinking? The 3rd is even more insufferable than Ouija. I will not bother with any more. |

Good Lord.
I keep complaining about how much I hate these films, but then I go see them opening weekend anyway. I don't think the studio differentiates between money made and people liking these films. Sure, it might be a financial success, but definitely not a critical one. |

I'm in as long as they finally follow up on that cliffhanger from the second film. But yeah, this franchise is starting to get repetitive (though I did like The Last Key's formula shake up
[Show spoiler] ) so would be great if we get an actual finale.

It's not a Sony franchise. First two were distributed by now defunct Indie company FilmDistrict and then they went over to Focus Features/Universal after a merger.

Sony Pictures distributed the first 4 films on home video so I was going by that. I never saw them in theaters. Thanks for the info.

So Insidious 5 isn’t that shocking that it got green lighted. |

The first two are extremely solid. The third was passable, but that's an extreme stretch, especially after the third act. The Last Key was one of the worst movies I've seen.
Of course, I'll see it no matter what at this point, but I'm hoping it's an actual sequel and not another dumb prequel. |
