Wow. I love this movie, but I was also a little kid back then. No one was really saying 'blatant ET ripoff' or 'so bad it's good' if you were a child. We loved this flick. The current blu is already solid and so I don't know about a further upgrade unless it really goes on sale. Retail is just so expensive from the boutiques. If there were a Conan/Paul Rudd commentary, I'd probably have to buy this for sure.

I was 8 when this came out and it was very much known as an ET ripoff. I honestly don't remember whether the kids in my school liked or disliked the movie, but I distinctly remember it being the ET clone movie.

And somehow that hideous artwork makes perfect sense for this movie.

If the ALT ending was taken from an actual film print and not video and also given as a branching option when watching the movie I would have bought it.

It's just the theatrical with that alt ending as a video source bonus feature.

Also hasn't that video alt ending been on youtube for many years now.
