Default Those old "Digital Copy" on dvd discs.

Who remembers the time when your "Digital copy" was a code locked DVD, which you could either play in itunes or Windows Media Player? And does wnyone know if they'll convert over to a digital copy on MA?

The disc-based iTunes digital copies are often still redeemable in iTunes (there are even workarounds to do this without the actual disc), and may port to MA if the movie is from a participating studio. The Windows Media codes are no longer redeemable.

Disney used them longer than they should have, so most users here are familiar with them. They are often referred to here as xml copies.

I was surprised when a digital copy from a DVD redeemed as HDX on Vudu.

Some of those oldest codes, XML codes, were revived and made to work for UV (directly in Vudu). This happened about a year or so ago.

And the code does not matter, what matters is if the movie itself is MA or UV. So a code that redeems a movie in Vudu that is both UV and MA will port to the UV locker, and to MA

I was at the grocery store today and their dump bin had plenty of DVD+Digital HD. New, too, X-Men Apocalypse was one of them. Cheaper than buying the code from itunes.

I have a lot of these old Digital Copy discs but have only recently tried to redeem them. I have found that iTunes only does SD so I quit redeeming them since I am only interested in 4K. A lot of them have cool artwork, I wonder if there are any collectors that buy them?

yes, depending on the studio and age of the code. So many Universal codes were/are both UV/iTunes, though Universal has let expire a large mass of their codes in an attempt to exit UV.

Paramount codes are (mostly) both UV and iTunes, some Lionsgate codes have both (though not a large amount, and only older codes, newer ones are UV or iTunes, one or the other).

That is not what I was saying, but depending on the studio the code could double redeem as cracked knee said.

Here are those threads on DVDs with HD codes.

Just picked up Justice league 4k I activated the digital copy ( flixster) only to find out if i want to watch it on my mac It will only play in standard def. The flixster app doesnt work on mac. It will on iOS but not on a mac computer. Wish they would let you switch over to iTunes. Flixster sucks.
