I am excited for this release and honestly have never seen the film ever. Was always interested in it. Sounds like the BLU UK release could be a good one. This fall is getting expensive!

Was it done by Optimum (paid, overlooked) or master was licensed?

In my opinion Quatermass, for its age, looks very good- not perfect, but such a old movie never will be.

I am holding my breath on this one too! I have always been a big fan of this production.

I notice on the artwork it says "The Hammer Collection", so I hope this means they plan to release all of their classic films. It's a goal of mine to collect all the Hammer horror and Universal monster movies together on blu ray. Would be awesome!

I'm fairly sure that's just the DVD artwork being used until the BD cover's finalised. It doesn't seem likely that they'd re-use such an old cover for a new transfer.

That's the old DVD cover. I have not seen the new cover art yet.

Does anyone have any idea if this will play on region A blu ray players in the U.S.? Some Optimum blu ray releases have been region free.

This is really a fabulous movie. I just wish the two prior Quatermass trilogy movies would be released on blu ray as well.
