My 4K Wishlist - Blu-ray Forum

Having thought about this recently there's the movies we want personally and then there's the inevitable money makers.

First, I pray that I'm alive to see all these Avatar movies that will come out in the next decade, but you can be sure that Avatar 1-5 will get the treatment.

Money Makers:
Titanic
Jaws
Lord of the Rings Trilogy

Things that I would like to see:
The Last Samurai
Into the Wild
The Pianist (Not even a Blu for the U.S.

There is already a 'general' 4K wishlist thread, and I posted in it (long ago now) but I am reserving a post here to make a new one over the coming days. Revisting the scope of my hopes for UHD as the niche aspect of it's first couple years is slowly fading from being the obstacle I, and many, once predicted. As signaled from certain releases. Namely Van Wilder, Twilight, Hansel & Gretel. In this day and age that is "floodgate" material.

Who can vouche for the quality of them, but if the above can be seen as worthy of release it's just a matter of timing for catalog the likes of Hard Rain, Waterworld, The Jackal, Field of Dreams etc. Like I always hoped would eventuate..

Also though the idea titles will have Atmos/DTS:X as a standard has been seen to be a firm no from the studios and some directors -- So if Die Hard, Terminator 2, and Close Encounters aren't immersive, I guess I can live with Payback not being, either?
