Default DC Streaming Service Metropolis (2019)

Quote:

The series, titled Metropolis, received a direct-to-series order from Warner Bros. Television and DC Entertainment for a 13-episode first season. Metropolis takes place "before the arrival of Superman" and "follows Lois Lane and Lex Luthor as they investigate the world of fringe science and expose the city’s dark and bizarre secrets."

Gotham kind of works as far as I'm aware because while it's not about Batman, it still has the same point... but what's the point of Superman without Superman when it's just about investigating science stuff? I'll skip this. DC needs to stop their "can't have TV characters if they're used for movies" crap, it's only hurting them.

To be fair, that thread was based on an unrelated show rumor that happened to have the same name. Considering the dates also listed in the topic title, it's not really a surprise someone just started a new topic.

Another Superman series without Superman? How many more can they make? I try to be optimistic about things particualrly when they relate to my favourite superhero but this seems to be another series that no one was really crying out for.

I like Tyler Hoechlin's portrayal on Supergirl; they should give him his own series.

There are multiple threads one from 2011 and one from a week ago. The’ve Been talking about this show since 2011. One would expect changes over a 7 year period. I believe the 2011 thread is legit.

I'm a sucker for DC stuff, so I'm sure to at least check this out, but I would much rather they expend their resources on something else.

I would love a show about the mystical/occult side of the DC universe. Either a team-up or an anthology series where we get to see Zatanna, The Spectre, Etrigan the Demon and so on.

This is likely going to have Lois investigating weird things in Metropolis related to STAR Labs and Kryptonite-influenced villains (think meteor freaks from Smallville the tv show).

I think I'll just pull out my DVD sets of the old George Reeves series.
