Hi there, I would like to report an issue regarding the Xbox One X Blu Ray App not able to play Guardians of the Galaxy vol 2 4k blu ray disc. First of all the disc is brand new, no damage whatsoever, my console is on the latest firmware update and the optical drive is working perfectly. I've tried all my other 4k discs including at least 10 different movie titles and all worked fine. But with GotG 2 in particular, the disc just won't load past the initial blue screen that has Blu-Ray symbol on it. Have tried eject, insert numerous times, including reinstalling the Blu Ray app and restarting the console all to no effect.
The disc is the Australian version purchased at JB Hi Fi, I've also tried a second new disc from the same store and result is still the same. The disc actually played on my Xbox One S (no longer with me) before the latest system firmware update so I'm thinking it could be an issue with the latest firmware? Has anyone run into this issue on their One X? Could anyone please share any advice? Thanks! |

I am having the same problem. It seems MS needs to fix their player.

Unfortunately turning off BDLive didn't help. I am currently discussing this with @XboxSupport on twitter.

Microsoft's @XboxSupport helped me resolve this. Here is what they said:
"Let's have you try factory resetting your console to get it to redownload the latest system update: bit.ly/1RTm24n On step 7 select: Reset and keep my games & apps" Just make sure that you keep your games and apps so you don't need to go through the hassle of re-downloading them. |

I have an issue with this disc as well. During the prison break scene with Groot and Yondu, it skips likes crazy. You're basically forced to scene skip. I've had both an S and an X, and never had a single playback issue before. And the disc is flawless.

I was having the same problem today with Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2 UHD on my Xbox One X. After close to an hour messing with it I decided to change the instant on to power saving and powered it down. I then restarted the xb1x and started the movie it worked perfectly fine. Something simple that people can try in the future if they are having issues.
