Default Which Studio Makes the Best Transfer (Video/Audio)?

There are a ton of companies that produce the blu-ray so I am listing the big ones but if there is one you would like to point out go ahead. What studio makes the best blu-ray in your option with audio and video both providing both good video, good surround sound.

Disney.

I think they all make the most of what they have though.

edit = The criterion is a real laugh. They have some of the worst transfers but that's due to the source material mostly.

And yet you nominate the studio that released the original Gangs of New York disc and a mis-framed POTC.

Source material will limit any release. Criterion consistently releases very good to excellent discs including some of the best Live-action releases available.

Question:

Why aren't Criterion or Kino on your poll?

and how many similar threads do we have discussing the same subject?

Okay, I wasn't aware of the fact that POTC was mis-framed. Which part? and has the problem been corrected?

Yes,... the PotC problem was corrected.

Yes, My Criterion Blus and DVD often look a bit poor but that's because of the source material they have to work with. The Criterion DVD of Walkabout was pathetic (amazingly bad, non-animorphic widescreen, sourced from Laserdisc) and the Blu Ray is better but doesn't compare PQ-wise to Enchanted or Dead Man's Chest or just about anything from Disney actually. I have a handfull of Criterion Blus and the movies themselves are great but the Picture and Audio quality is often sad but likely the best they could do with what they had.

If you want to think otherwise then that's fine.

If this is a joke, then I don't get your humor. In other words, you couldn't have said anything more wrong.

Well, I can't speak to their entire catalog but Casablanca and The Dark Knight are two of my favorite demo blus and Blade Runner pretty much set the bar for how a classic film should be treated.

Goodfellas audio fiasco aside, WB gets my vote.
