Default Aliens Expanded - New 2024 Documentary

FROM CREATORVC

Aliens Expanded: Welcome to a New Species of Documentary

So far, I am very, very impressed.

IMO, a worthy watch. A bit of revisionist at times.
I would say a couple watches to absorb this would be likely.

With all the documentaries included on the Alien Anthology, is there really more of value? I ask this hoping there is... I love a good movie documentary.

Yeah, I'd be curious what the point of this is given the exhaustive documentaries that were in the DVD/blu-ray sets. Why do people keep making documentaries for movies like this? I saw the same thing with "The Thing" recently. The longer time goes on, the less the interviewees will remember (and the fewer are alive).

Do something that is sorely lacking in behind the scenes docs, like Poltergeist, and then I'm on board. The Return of the Living Dead and Creepshow ones were pretty good, too.

This is pretty behind the scenes with most all the major cast and crew that is still alive,
including Cameron. I'm liking it so far.

Considering how expensive the disc was, I'll wait. It's not one of my favorites so if I never get it, that's fine. There's no reason for this to be $100.

I bought this (digital) now that it's on sale at a reasonable price, and very much enjoyed it. I made myself split my viewing sessions up over the course of this past week, but it's so well paced that I think I could have sat through the whole thing in one go.

I also appreciated that this sits alongside the other big Aliens documentary ("Superior Firepower") without too much crossover (and they even interview the creator of that doc!). That one utilised a lot of behind-the-scenes material, archival footage, on-set pieces and dailies to piece together the story of the film's making and reveal the technical secrets. This one is more about the stories, the memories and the retrospective feelings, along with a close examination of everything that went into the film. The two documentaries complement each other very well.

Is this likely to get a regular release at a sensible price like RoboDoc eventually did?

I don't think anything else from CreatorVC has.

Oh well. Not spending $18 for a digital download with that file size.

I liked that Jim Cameron was in this a lot more {Current Jim}.

Haven't watched this yet but I donated to get me name in the credits. Not sure when they'll send the physical copies.

Same. Check your spam/junk folder, if you haven’t received a shipping notification. That’s where some (but, oddly, not all) of my CreatorVC emails end up.

Thanks for the tip. Looked in my spam folder and there was an email from them requesting a payment for shipping from 2-3 weeks ago.

I was also a bit skeptical about where the value in a new documentary would be. That said, the 48-minute Aliens episode of The Movies That Made Us is a fantastically entertaining watch, as long as you're a fan of the format.

I received my Blu-ray copy about a week ago. It is excellent, informative, and it has a lot more information than the previous "making of" documentaries. Due to the length of the feature, I split my viewing over a couple of days, but it was well worth my time. Highly recommended for fans. And it was cool seeing my name in the credits.

I ordered this toward the end of August and was told it would be sent out this month, but I still haven't received it and am a little concerned at this point. :/

You should have received an email requesting payment for shipping. If you haven't, you should check your spam folder or contact them.
