It should almost be a crime The Trial has no region A Blu-ray. Spread the word however you can. This Orson Welles' film must and deserves nothing less than a knockout transfer in region A land. Studio Canal's release, which I own, is unspectacular, and lacking in video. It is outdated with lots of artificial sharpening and dnr. I think this is Welles' fourth best film after Kane, ambersons, and Evil. I usually follow narratives but this movie actually confused me. I have no idea what the ending was about, or the build to it, but I found the movie creepy and compelling. While the movie is complicated I want a good transfer so I can more appreciate all the visuals and give the story another chance to follow closer. This time I'm prepared.
