Yeah that will be kinda weird to keep having a movie playing for months and delaying home release for nearly a year. Yes I heard movies have played for months instead of weeks.

I highly doubt AMC's majority owners, Wanda Group - the Chinese conglomerate who also own Legendary Pictures, would be interested in selling. In 2016 Wanda Group owned more movie screens in U.S. then they did in China (about 13% in U.S. vs about 6% in China).
