Default ‘Hellraiser’ TV Series

Quote:

It producer Roy Lee and Ready Player One producer Dan Farah have positioned themselves to bring to the small screen for the first time Hellraiser, the iconic horror franchise anchored by the malevolent straight out of hell villain, Pinhead, reports Deadline. Those producers have joined forced with producer/rights holders Lawrence Kuppin, David Salzman and Eric Gardner, who have controlled those TV rights since New World was sold in 1989.

The intention is to use the mythology established in the movie franchise and the Clive Barker novella The Hellbound Heart as a launch pad for a new series that could be anthology, or a more traditional narrative. The producers will first set a writer-showrunner before setting it at a network or streamer,The feature rights are separately controlled by Spyglass, which isn’t part of this configuration. David Goyer is writing and producing.

Yay for more Hellraiser!!! If it is on a premium channel that I don't get such as STARZ or something else then hopefully it will be put on Bluray later for those who choose not to pay more on their Satellite bill just to be able to get 1 show that they can't watch elsewhere.

No way in hell this could work as a network show.

I don't know... I can see Starz doing it justice. Ash vs. Evil Dead was pretty graphic. Campy, but bloody, gory, and nasty as hell. So if they treat it respectfully, I can see Hellraiser working as a series.

I will only watch this if each week, Pinhead and the Cenobites travel around in a Winnebago, solving crimes and helping those who can't help themselves.

MMMMM this better be on Shudder streaming or on a premium network or don't ****ing waste our time Hellraiser 1-4 that is when it all ended then came pile of shit sequels using scripts from other movies and just adding Pinhead then came 2 low budget sequels so the studio can keep the rights for it.

We were lucky with one show that was not on a cable or premium network that was Hannibal but no way Hellraiser would work on those alphabet networks as violent and graphic Hannibal story can Clive Barker's Hellraiser is in another level when it comes to violence.

They should get Terry Farrell back for the lead and then pay her less than the rest of the cast.

It will probably be picked up by Netflix and canceled after its first season...

I could see an anthology working. There was a pretty good anthology comic series in the '90s. Different people, in different time periods, encountering the puzzle box and the Cenobites. With a decent budget, and hellacious blood and gore, it could work.

Never gonna happen.

In the past few years, Nightbreed, Weaveworld & Imajica have been announced as television shows that never moved forward. Add Hellraiser to the list. It's comical how many Clive Barker projects are announced because none of them ever pan out.
