Default Something I Keep Asking Myself

So by now we've all seen Ken Graffeo's latest comments. He does not mention supporting blu-ray, but does not mention not supporting it either. This morning we found out that Universal's exclusivity with HD DVD was up and they were not bound by contract any longer and they did not renew it. Why if Universal is not going to support blu-ray are they not entering into a new contract with HD DVD? I think the fact that they let their contract expire is proof they are going neutral at the least. You would have thought though they would have at least signed a neutral contract like WB did, which makes me think more and more that they are going blu-ray exclusive.

I thought Universal's contract ends at the end of January? Universal will be blu soon enough. They have no choice now. Same with Paramount. Just a matter of time. The fact that Paramount and Universal does not come right out and say "we will not be supporting blu-ray now or anytime soon" speaks volumes. The same analogy can be taken from the Warner senerio. These are carefully chosen words/statements by corporations. Business as usual. Just have to learn to read between the lines of non-statements.

credible reports from all over the industry say that it ended 1/1/08.

that makes a lot more sense too.
