France Ordering From FNAC

I'm thinking about ordering some more French releases soon and was checking out FNAC as I may pay by PayPal rather than a credit card. I looked for a dedicated thread on FNAC, but couldn't find one...

Has anyone here ordered from FNAC? If so, please let me know your thoughts on their service: delivery, packaging, etc.

Used FNAC a lot although I tend to use Amazon.fr more often lately, but if the price is cheaper, I'll use them. Never had any problems and usually quite quick (if in stock); I've bought CDs, Blu-rays, books and concert tickets.

I've used FNAC a number of times in the past. They are/were a lot faster than Amazon.fr, but for me they were also substantially more expensive.

Interestingly enough, I used to be able to pick up many older DVD releases that were in stock at Fnac but not available at Amazon.fr.

I want to use too FNAC for some BLurays.
But i can't seem to find my way through. No ENglish οption??

From the 2 blurays i want to buy, one is the same price as amazon.fr, and the other is 1 euro less!!
Although i don't know what is the shipping cost.

By the way i found somewhere this, and i was alarmed a bit:

Hi folks,
If you've bought a deck from FNAC and used paypal, you may have entered into a merchant agreement with them - and anytime they ask paypal for money from you, paypal will just send it to them.
I inadvertently did just that, and while they haven't emptied my bank account, I found out how to check for the merchant agreement, and how to back out of it on paypal.
Here are the instructions from paypal:
To cancel a Payment Agreement on a merchant-by-merchant basis:
1. Log in to your account at https://www.paypal.com/home.
2. Click "Profile" at the top of the page.
3. Click the "Pay List" link in the Financial Information column.
4. Find the merchant whose agreement you want to cancel.
5. Click on the merchant's name or email address.
6. Click the "Cancel" link.
I just thought that folks might be interested to know this. You might check there anyway, in case you've established any other inadvertent payment agreements...

Always be careful with FNAC marketplace, I've had a few issues with third party sellers and FNAC doesn't provide any support.

Last time I checked it was quite expensive. The only option it was giving me, for regular blu-rays, was UPS International Express which started out at ~20-30 Euros!

Hello I am trying to buy a Blu-ray from fnac and they don't seem to have an US delivery option from the dropdown menu. Can I still get US delivery?

My address still appears to be accepted. I tried adding a new address and UNITED STATES (Etats-Unis) was on the list -- a couple slots below Spain (Espagne) and Estonia

Thank you I looked at that list a few times and couldn't find it, maybe because I didn't know the French Spelling of it, lol.

Tried and tried and tried some more to order for shipment to the USA...couldn’t get it to work and finally heard that they don’t do PayPal...tried using a credit card and no problem ordering...not sure if other countries have the same problem.

My order just shipped! Apparently they do take PayPal. I couldn't find a clear cut answer before...but it worked for me

I’m lucky enough to live in France so drop into FNAC whenever in Toulouse. Most Blu Rays are expensive there but I always check out the couple of bins they have for bargains and am often able to pick up the odd title for under €10.

Caveat emptor for anyone purchasing from the U.S. The FNAC marketplace is quite sketchy, with merchandise frequently not actually available. I ordered 3 4K steelbooks from them. One shipped immediately and the other 2 never shipped and ended up being cancelled... so I wound up paying the full shipping cost for the order for only 1 item, making it one damned expensive steelbook. Chat support was of no help at all.

Since when did FNAC stop using DHL Express for shipping within EU? It's been a while since I ordered too. This was shipped with DPD. Thought "Livraison Express Internationale" still was DHL, same price as well. Oh well, I hope I get it before I go abroad. Some parcels get sent back from the pick-up point within 7 days, some within 14.

It's there, but the list isn't in alphabetical order. I thought the same thing until I found "Unites States" buried somewhere in the middle. Just ordered a blu-ray from them and got it 3 days later in Los Angeles.

They ship with some courier to Switzerland too, but as I'm never the one to sign for them I have no idea if it's DPD or DHL who delivers it.
And for the shipping price they charge, it's quite cheap!

Beware, they don't charge you import fees, so if you buy a pre-order item and get it delivered to you on release day, expect customs to milk you with import fees. I know I paid 24 CAD on a 29.99 euros Star Wars SB.
