Surely they don't loop in this weekend with Christmas for a damn SIX day weekend right? I say six cause of Thursday shows for Cats.

This has to be one of the worst release days for a Christmas I have ever seen.

Dont forget, 1917 also comes out on Christmas! I think that will beat out Spies and Cats. I'm pulling for that and Little Women to do better than the other two films listed above (but Star Wars will dominate everything of course)

Along with the three listed, we also have the limited release of 1917 and the nationwide release of Uncut Gems.

1917 is a limted release till mid January.

It’s too bad the Cats musical will bomb. I love musicals so I wish they had just done it right. Now it’ll probably be years, if ever, that they try again.

Doubt it, as 1917 is limited and the other two are not only going wide, but also have more going for them.

Was there a way to make Cats into a good musical?

Honestly I wish we'd get more original musicals. Preferably throwbacks to old-time musicals in the vein of La La Land.

Cats #2, Jumanji #3. Jumanji skewed to a mostly male audience, girls have already seen Frozen, didn't care for Black Christmas, and are going to want something to see over Christmas break and Star Wars is a bit darker so expect Cats to take #2. Also, Cats is PG while Star Wars is PG-13, plenty of "cat lady" grandmas likely to take their granddaughters to see it.
