I found it hard to believe, in all the years this forum has existed, that there’s been no forum discussions for this title… it being the 20th anniversary of the movie next month.

I grew up on this movie. Got the dvd as a birthday gift in 2005 and it was the first movie I ever owned. White Castle is doing a promotion for the 20th anniversary where you get a free digital copy for buying some frozen sliders, so it was nice to add that to my digital library. I still quote H & K with a couple of my buddies.

Watched it recently, didn't hold up for me, too much stupidity in it I didn't notice when I was younger. And they kind of use the lowest brow humor for the drug stuff, like worse than middle school kids, I actually question if the writers were even into the culture or just posers, but the sequel was even more extreme™ and I actually turned it off. Only for John Cho if I ever do again.

Doubt it gets a 4K. I'll probably pick up the blurays soon.

It might if Shout! or Arrow sublicenses it. Maybe just do the whole trilogy.

I don’t think it’s a great movie by any stretch, or even a good one, but it does hold an important place in pop culture history. We would never have the confident, awesome version of Neil Patrick Harris that we have today without it.

I'd take a 4K Trilogy set from Shout! Factory, like their Ring Trilogy and upcoming Bill & Ted Trilogy sets.

It didn't age well for me either. I bought it cheap on BD years ago...no desire to revisit.

If the disc had come out a few years later it would have had both the theatrical and unrated cuts on the disc.

Universal's been the only label pretty consistent with both since the beginning.

It held up for me when I re-watched it last year. A remastered version on 4K would be most welcome.

Looks like the fourth film is being produced not by Warner Bros but by Lionsgate/Mandate Pictures - original franchise creators Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg will be returning to write and direct. Could it be possible that distribution rights to the first three films may transfer from WB to Lionsgate?

Not necessarily. Tons of sequels are made by other studios without any rights transfer of the originals.

Angel… - Lionsgate

then the TV series Paris… is StudioCanal.
