Weird choice of art for the front of the steelbook. That's like putting Belloq's exploding head on the cover of Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Nothing besides it highlighting promotional material and images from the movie when it was released theatrically in 1939. It includes a replica movie ticket, program, and premiere invite among other stuff.

So this is basically the 2005 Collector's Edition DVD repurposed, just with the Kodachrome stills replaced with poster reproductions:

Interesting that they're using the font from the original marketing campaign. I don't think I've ever seen that used on anything modern before.

It's a weird moniker that's not even on the packaging, but I presume it's meant to tie into the Wicked film coming in November. Funnily enough, that 2005 edition I referenced above was meant to tie into the success of the Broadway musical, so I guess history repeats itself.

Gotcha. Already have the 2019 Region 1 4K steelbook and don't need all the gew-gaws, so I'll pass. Looks like a cool release, though!

Looks like they put it up too early, and took it down. That happens from time to time with Orbit from what I've noticed.

It’s possible they removed the listing temporarily. Maybe it went up too soon?

Not sure if I need this but I have all the previous releases including the big box set from the 70th Anniversary.

Curious if we’ll see something similar in the US for the 85th.

Looks nice! This is definitely one of those movies that'll just always get re-released every few years until the end of time. I think I'm cool with my 4k one from a couple years ago, but this is still a nice set. Might grab it if/when it ever goes on sale.

Agreed about the cover, though. I probably would've put the cover from the slipcase onto the steel, and made the melting witch the back cover, but what do I know?

Yep, happened with the recent Northman, Atomic Blonde, and King Kong UK releases.

I'm sure the link will be back who it's live on places like Zavvi and Amazon UK.

Personally, as a HUGE fan of Maggie Hamilton and the WWotW as the best character in the film, this is a definite pick-up for me, regardless of the numerous spec eds of this classic flick already on my shelves...
