Hopefully this is a prelude to the television series release.

The first thing I thought was "Well... I'd rather it was the TV Series..."

Don't forget Pee Wee
I always loved this part...

Not to mention the capper at the end of the credits, where he's STILL dying, haha.

Not liking this though...cheapo photoshop job, it's like a background from the Near Dark
[Show spoiler]Near Dark Blu-ray"][/URL]
or Vampires Assistant school of blu ray cover art with a bit of Dylan Dog

mixed in, and then some magazine cutouts from a 1992 Fangoria magazine slapped on

The Buffy movie is a glorious failure.
If there was never a show people would probably put it up there with the Evil Dead Trilogy, but as it stands people treat it like some sort of blasphemous nativity play.

I remember renting this a few times on VHS when I was a kid and liking it, but I saw it on cable recently and it just doesn't hold up well. It's got a fun cast, though.

Another title for the Walmart dump bin. Even though it has little connection to the incredible television show, it must sell decently by playing off that show's popularity. I wonder how many people buy it at the store, and then wonder where is Willow in it when they watch it.

I loved this movie as a kid and still do! True it's not as good as the tv show but it's still cheesy fun! I just wish they used the original poster art with the white background instead of the wannabe Twilight photoshop horror they are using!

I watch this every now and then. I'll pick it up.

I agree that Fox should start looking at getting the (superior) series onto blu sooner rather than later. This current vampire fetish won't last forever. And if they're releasing this box office turkey, they clearly feel there's a market. Seems like right now is the time to start putting out Buffy and Angel sets...

Yeah, that is a terrible cover. I really don't like how everything is on the left side. Seems kinda off center to me or something. Nonetheless, I will look to grab this on sale at some point.

Not a great movie, but I'll pick it up. I like how with the box art they seem to be trying to make people think of the show (the way the word 'Buffy' is written, etc)

That part is awesome!

Since the events of the movie roughly preceed the TV show
[Show spoiler](I know many things were different like she is no longer a senior in high school in the show, etc, the general events are still the same... there is even a flashback in one episode to her at her old school where she first meet's Merrick, only instead of Donald Sutherland he was played by the guy who invents the Jump-To-Conclusions-Mat in Office Space), I always thought it would have been cool if in the final episode of the show, at the very end, right after everything else happens as it already does in that episode, it would cut to Paul Reuben's vampire from the movie STILL slowly dying and making those unconvincing "ahhh, oohh, eee" sounds.

I'll pick this one up but I would much rather it be the tv show as well. I think unfortunatlly though both Buffy and Angel have the same issue as so many other much wanted tv shows with how the effects were shot? Still hoping to see them one day but probably not soon.

Nice to see this coming out as I love the flick, but probably would have to be under $10 for me to upgrade my DVD copy. And as many stated it is a horrible cover, but gotta appeal to the Twilight crowd.
