Default 'Look Who’s Talking’ Reboot

Quote:
Sony Pictures’ Screen Gems is rebooting Look Who’s Talking, the 1989 TriStar comedy that starred Kirstie Alley as a single career woman left alone to give birth to a baby fathered by a married man (George Segal), with John Travolta playing a cab driver who becomes part of this makeshift family, and Bruce Willis voicing the tot named Mikey.

Jeremy Garelick is set to write and direct, and Adam Fields will produce. Garelick is just getting underway with the writing. As was the case with his hit film The Wedding Ringer — also for Screen Gems — Garelick’s looking at a version that will allow for a diverse cast. Amy Heckerling wrote and directed the original, a sleeper hit that cost $7.5 million and grossed nearly $300 million worldwide. It spawned two sequels and a spinoff TV series. Fields produced The Wedding Ringer and such films as Donnie Darko.

Babies talking. This movie will probably make a billion dollars worldwide... But didn't they make some of these a few years back? I don't keep track of these films as I'm not a fan. Babies thinking like grown ups doesn't make much sense, but it's all make believe anyway.

1. Not really, not with this franchise.
2. Yep, this idea literally reinforces that line of questioning.
3. Most probably.

'Garelick’s looking at a version that will allow for a diverse cast'

There it is

The most important aspect of a modern film. Even more important than the actual plot. How diverse can we make it? We have to keep Twitter happy.

Quite a self righteous and assumptive post here.

I haven't even seen the other films, so I'm just feeling indifferent.

The second one was just more of the same while the third was just scraping the bottom of the barrel.

I was just thinking they should do another Look Who’s Talking the other day. They did both kids and the pets. What could they do this time?

Wiki says there was a supposed sequel that never got made where Mikey is an adult with his own baby. That could work but it’d be cool if it had a new twist.

Oh what about...Mikey or whoever the main character is becomes friends with someone from another country and has to reach teach them English and American culture for a job or something? Kinda like Perfect Strangers but the person can’t really speak to anyone.

If it starred Bruce Willis as the adult Mikey I would be up for it.

If they get John Travolta to voice the baby, maybe this movie can kick off his third comeback.
