Extras (i.e., alternate cuts) finally playing in 4K...

Or maybe they have been for a while (since the last firmware upgrade I assume), but I just never noticed...

Tried playing Deadpool 2 Super Duper Cut from the Extras of Deadpool 2, and it's playing in glorious 4k (the Commentary plays in 4k too...)

So, as long as the Extended/Alternate cut was delivered in 4k, it is now playing in 4k! Which may not be too many (tried Hancock, feature is 4k, extended cut is just HD), but maybe the newest movies will at least keep this up to date...

Deadpool 2 has been like that since the day it was released, it is also currently the only film that this is available.

The various cuts of Close Encounters of the Third Kind do not all play in 4K. Only the director’s cut, and that only plays in 4K if you access it from the main menu.

Ahh, good to know... I was going by comments here were people were composing that the extras were only HD, and someone used Deadpool as an example. Just never tried it myself...

Strange, I redeemed my digital code of Close Encounters UHD in movies anywhere and checked all my services to see if I got the highest quality on each site and I did (VUDU is only HDX) and it looks like on FandangoNow you get the Special edition and the director's cut in UHD but the theatrical is HD, this version
