Been wanting to get a headset and I think I have it narrowed down to 2 of them. The turtle beach stealth 350vr as I have a PSVR and the headset has great reviews and seems to fit perfectly with the headset. Just not sure how good it is for non VR games and I would like to use it with my X1 and Switch.
The other one is the elite pro tournament headset. Seems to be the most comfortable headset available and I like how it has a thing for my glasses. But I only play solo and won't be chatting. I like how I can use it with my PS4 and X1 and I'm sure the switch. Basically I just want a good headset for solo play with some good surround sound. Being able to use it with my X1 and PSVR is icing on the cake. Anyone have either of these? http://www.turtlebeach.com/en-us/elite-pro-headsets/ http://www.turtlebeach.com/en-us/earforcestealthvr/ |

I was given a pair of the plats for Valentines day. I agree with Derb. I have a pair of the Plats. There is a noticeable improvement over the golds depending on which listening mode you select. They also seem heavier and built better than the golds.....
TBH If I didn't get the plats as a gift I doubt I would pay damn near twice the price of the golds for them. |

If you're only using on a PS4 then i would say in that budget, the Sony GOLD V2 without hinges is the best one to go for and regularly on offer. That said, i prefer wired due to battery life and ended up with a PlayStation Silver wired which broke cause the headband was crap. Luckily i had a HyperX Cloud headset that just needed a USB wired thing and the silvers USB connector with a 3.5mm jack was perfect. The sound is great and feels immersive too. |

Plats still going strong here.
I haven’t got the Golds V2 model but for price/performance it be my go-to replacement. TB headsets have gotten better & are light weight with VSS so ya might wanna throw that option on the table. I’m considering getting a new pair of cans. Will let ya know if anything stands out. If you can forget VSS, chat, Sennheiser makes the best wireless headsets period. The HDR 850 is my go-to with very comfortable pads & batt life is 12 hours. AQ isn’t bad either. |

I personally have found the HyperX Cloud i use with the USB adapter are really good but not official "Virtual Surround Sound" enabled but the soundstage is amazingly enhanced compared to how it was just in a 3.5mm jack and sound very "2 dimensional" rather than a full bodied sound where you could hear all around. |

second choice would be Sennheiser GSP 300 (it looks like shit, but I read good things about the sound other candidates: Cooler Master MH-751 and HyperX Cloud Alpha |

I’ve used Sennheiser headsets for a long time because “Comfort” is 1 of their biggest strengths next to AQ of course & batt life & durability & value... |

12 years. That goes fast, I agree. Nice to see this site continues. When the format of blu ray eventually fades away or is replaced with something else, they'll likely still call it blu-ray .com if they're still around.

As far as headphones go, I just have Sony's $50 headphones, which offer basic noise cancellation from outside, and impressive sound, but nothing too fancy.

Found em. ![]() I remember testing em. Everything is perfect except 1 thing. Comfort only lasts 7 hours. Last edited by Derb; 02-19-2019 at 08:02 AM. |
