Just seen this beast of a player being noted for second half of 2018.
![]() DP-UB9000 supports HDR10+, Dolby Vision HDR, Alexa and Google Assistant voice control (via a future software update), and 7.1 channel audio." The emphasis will be on audio performance, with the DP-UB9000 having a dedicated audio power supply, a 'high-performance' DAC and an XLR balanced output. Housed in new vibration-reducing casework, a thick steel plate fixes the optical disc drive to the chassis to reduce noise during disc rotation. It also features the latest HCX (Hollywood Cinema Experience) processor and 4K upscaling and HDR optimisation technology that form part of the 2018 range. Pricing is yet to be confirmed, and the DP-UB9000 is not expected to go on sale in the UK until the second half of 2018. https://www.pocket-lint.com/tv/news/...y-vision-alexa https://www.flatpanelshd.com/news.ph...&id=1518518354 Last edited by Lion; 02-13-2018 at 01:19 PM. |

Only slightly, aside from a partial view with drive, and analog CCA exposed, Panasonic is not showing the construction as usual. Has a fan, no digital inputs. Since it being introduced in Europe I see this as taking advantage to Cambridge Audio dropping analog outputs from their CXUHD player with balanced XLR outputs added comparably.
This is the image with the partial inside view from the rear. Last edited by JohnAV; 02-13-2018 at 09:20 PM. |

It will rather cost 990 Pounds or Euros, I reckon.

It's a French site, right in my alley. If Sony and LG can come up with quality build players like Oppo and that Panasonic new Dolby Vision player, that'll be the day.
• http://www.techradar.com/news/panaso...-in-its-sights * 7.5 kilos ... it gots some heft to it...good. Last edited by LordoftheRings; 02-14-2018 at 12:58 AM. |

He must be new to the world of audio/ video. His wording needs improving.
He's not alone. ___ Oppo's own website is a thing of beauty and with a clear description of its features...the 205...and it is well represented: • https://www.oppodigital.com/blu-ray-...5-Reviews.aspx ___ The new Panasonic 9000...my guess for USD retail price: $999 ($899 @ best). This mimics the DMP-UB900 specs except newer DAC supporting 11.2 Mhz less the SD reader slot I can't see in the previous video posted by LOTR

The great thing with these 2018 Panasonic 4K players will be the in-player tone-mapping (named HDR Optimizer).
As for this player, I believe it is being pitched at the audiophile end of the market. It will likely sit between the Oppo 203 and 205 price wise. Good to see Panasonic doing a high-end player. I might be tempted to buy this beast. |
