A friend of mine will be visiting the U.S. in a few weeks and will reside in Manhattan, NY, and I gave him few titles to buy for me when he's there. So what stores in that area might sell these blu-rays?

Barnes & Noble may have some of the Kino titles but be prepared to pay full MSRP (typically $29.99). I'm afraid that's it - all of the good physical media shops have closed. I've actually considered opening a non-official store since I work in the city and have a lot of titles I'd like to get rid of and don't want to bother with eBay. I'd rather deal with people face to face.
