United Kingdom Halloween (2018)

Hi

For those interested, my Blu-Ray turned up today from Zoom in a slipcase that would be nice if the ‘Includes 30 minutes of bonus features’ bright white circular sign was a sticker, rather than actually printed on the sleeve itself. I never understand why distributors do it like this as it totally goes against the gloomy atmosphere of the cover, but there you go...

Anyway it has DTS-X like the US release.

Cheers

It baffles/saddens me that 30 minutes of bonus features is something to be impressed with in 2019. The RZ Halloween Blu Ray has 5 hours of extras. Hot Fuzz has 5 hours. Jaws has 5 hours.
You don't see them bragging! lol

They did the same thing for Skyscraper, a Universal release. Why are they starting to boast about 30 minutes of extras...

The DVD of The Little Drummer Girl (also released by Universal) seems to have a banner at the top declaring it has 15 minutes of extras!

I remember DVDs bragging that scene selection was a special feature

Don't forget the special Cast and Crew feature, which was a basically a static screen giving as much information that you would get if you paused the film on the credits.

Well, after VHS, it kinda was.

& yet some of the more niche companies no longer include it on their blu-ray menus...

Yeah my UHD from Zoom arrived today, same white circle on slip. Not bothered though as I rarely peel off stickers. Love the cover art on this

I’ve not even lifted the slip to see if that white circle is on the cover underneath?

Universal have been pretty good lately about not including the Blu-ray + Digital HD banner on the actual case, and also removing any mention of the digital copy, with all that info resigned to the slip. It's just a shame in this instance they dropped the ball artwork wise.

Probably because the UV 'service' is ending in June/July this year. Then UK releases won't include any digital copies, so the covers could look better.... except I would imagine Universal would want to replace the absence of '+ Digital HD' with nonsense like these non-removable stickers!

To whoever (or is it WHOMever) was asking, HMV are definitely stocking this tomorrow, all versions.

Edit:- Sorry, my mistake, when I was referring to all versions I meant DVD, bluray and 4K. Sorry for the confusion.

I checked my local HMV's twitter, and they haven't posted anything. If you don't mind me asking, how did you hear about this? I'm hoping to pick up a steelbook instore tomorrow.

HMV Belfast have tweeted it will be in store on Monday, so I would expect all stores should have stock then...
