Any ideas?

I just received it too. I'm anxious to see the details.

They've mentioned in the past that they'd like to do another 3-D title starring Rhonda Fleming. Two of those reside with Paramount. The first is Those Redheads From Seattle (1953), which is also the first non-anamorphic widescreen title intended for widescreen presentation. The second one is a jungle romance picture called Jivaro in which she co-stars with Fernando Lamas.

I got the email as well and wondered if this had already been talked about. So I Googled "panamint 3d 1953 2016" and this page popped up in the results:

http://panamint.co.uk/it-came-from-o...ray-3843-p.asp

Would be very cool if this was happening. Unfortunately it says region B when you select more details. Would be nice if they get a region free version like they did with Inferno.

Great News! I'm stoked!

Fox agreed to allow Panamint to release Inferno (1953) region-free.

Apparently, Universal has a different policy.

The OP should change the thread title.

Fantastic news to start the new year! My only quibble is that for a film with some of the best posters ever to advertise the 3-D process, they haven't used them for the cover art.

I hope Panamint are able to license those other titles too.

Hopefully they will use the stereo sound tracks that still exist.

Me too. Second quarter can't get here fast enough but then again it's the kind of movie I like in the warm weather months and there's plenty 3D to keep us busy till then.

I thought that I had read that the stereo tracks no longer existed for this title?

Great news....but alas it should have been an early release...the failure to release titles like this, jaws 3d, Friday the 13th etc on day one have simply contributed to the lack of interest now in 3d 😣

Bob Furmanek also said the 3-channel stereo track still exists.

Great news! I must have mistaken it for a different vintage 3D title

At World 3-D Film Expo II in 2006, we heard the three-channel stereo with the film. They ran it off a hard drive in the projection booth. Talk about old meets new: Two-strip 35mm polarized 3-D with synchronized hard drive accompaniment. :-)

At that same screening, they ran The Adventures of Sam Space in support of It Came from Outer Space. I was of the impression at the time, perhaps mistakenly, that the print of Sam Space was in fact the single surviving print of the film. They started it up, and blurrrrppp! The film tore. I like to have had kittens. My friends, two casual classic sci-fi fans and an enthusiastic but very unknowledgeable wife, were profoundly unconcerned. "Film tears all the time," they said.
