You realise that us getting this in 2021 is the equivalent of Uncharted 4 dropping in 2014, a year after the PS4 came out? GoW 2018 is arguably my favourite game of the past generation on the PS4, so my level of expectation of Ragnarok may not actually be measurable via scientific means!

They could deliver the same shit only prettier and it would still be a homerun, but we know Barlog has more ambition than that. So let those expectations soar.

I'm at least expecting Ragnarok to be able to stand alongside GoW 2018 on all aspects, from (most importantly) it's storytelling and emotional involvement to the visuals. Barlog should have zero concerns that Sony Santa Monica will deliver anything less than steller graphics for this game, and the combat system they have at the moment is perfect. There is absolutely nothing about the original game i can possibly critique, it really is that good.

Jokes aside. I want them to be up front from now on the liars about whether this is a cross gen game. Look at how long they've known that Miles Morales and Horizon II were coming to PS4 and kept schtum.

Honesty is what helps Sony, MS have been doing it perfectly fine in Recent years.

I'm quite curious if this will come to PS4, since support for the previous console still go after awhile, despite being labeled as a PlayStation 5 exclusive title. Would get it on PS5 anyhow.

I'm not quite that pessimistic. I'm definitely not optimistic that it makes it out in 2021. But I don't think only showing a teaser has any bearing on it. They already have Miles Morales and Horizon 2 as their splashy launch and launch window games to show of the power of PS5. I can see them sitting on GoW2 footage for their big E3 2021 game (assuming that's a thing--whatever big summer event they have otherwise).

I will be 3 years in April since the last one launched and reports were they got to work on the sequel pretty soon after that was done. So late 2021 would be a feasible release date I'd think. The sequel will need a lot less development time than the reboot since they have the combat engine etc. done.

So I'd guess it's either the big holiday 2021 title, or the big Q1 2022 game. And honestly, I'd expect PS5 sales and availability to be the driver there. If PS5's are flying off shelves still and are hard to find next Oct/November, might as well delay it to release in 2022 when sales may need a boost.

I HATE hard games, usually suck at action games like this especially, and thought this was pretty easy on normal aside from the Valkryie fights (especially the last one that was hard as hell even on easy).

If you though the first one was too hard even on easy, I wouldn't expect the sequel to be even easier. Though maybe they'll go the route Naughty Dog did with TLOU2 or Remedy did with the recent update for Control and add accessibility sliders to let people make the game easier/harder in more nuanced ways (even an immortality option in Control).
