Connection Refused - Blu-ray Forum

Anyone else been getting the below message within the last 1-2 days. It seems to be happening more frequently as time goes on. Usually a refresh will allow the site to load.

I've seen that only at my work. I asked my IT tech who checked it, and said it's' because the site is hosted from Japan, thus it's blocked.

Yes, I've gotten it yesterday, and just now again. Once I refresh once or twice it comes back. Now sure what the issue is. I feel like the site is running a tiny bit slower too.

We’ve had 20k+ online in the forum this weekend (probably Super Bowl related) which has caused shorter outages but nothing serious. I’ll see if we can tweak something to help.

The site is hosted in the US (New York).

About 10% of the time I'm getting "Failed to Connect" messages, but not "Refused". I don't know if there's a difference?

I've been getting This site can't be reached once or twice a day for the past couple of days or so.

Refreshing usually fixes it.

Wow, I didn't think to check the number of individuals online over the weekend. The current number is still much higher than normal. Usually the guests are about 2x the number of registered users, but it's currently over 6x that amount at the moment.

Glad to see all the extra visitors on the site, but I’m not sure how the Super Bowl would be the cause of that.

It just happened again and actually lasted longer this time - a minute or more.

Yup, I asked him a second time as I would like to browse the site on my break. He checked again. First check came back as hosted in the US, the second in Japan??? He said the IP address must be right where it's so close in-between IP locations (my words) as I cannot remember exactly what he said 12 hours ago.

I've also been getting this problem. Refreshing the site fixes it, although sometimes I have to refresh it a couple of times.

Yeah, and the Super Bowl has been over for a couple of days now too.

But there are still a lot more guests than usual. I wonder if a bunch of people came over here from a different movie forum or something?
