Tied with the Scanner Cop films, this is my favourite release announcement this year so far. Close second is Return to Salem's Lot.

The Borrower is insanely fun from start to finish. Lots of gory effects (hoping they find the unedited version) and some fantastic visuals. I used to rent this one almost monthly back in the day.

These are the kind of releases I cherish most, since it's never been released outside of a VHS.

I thought this was never going to get a blu-ray release, I remember reading an interview where director John McNaughton said the master print was lost.

Awesome, one of the few horror scifi’s I loved as a teen. Can’t wait to revisit it again.

Just watched this on YouTube to see if it would be something I would want to order, really enjoyed it! The version on YouTube had some of the worst audio I've seen in a movie, so hopefully this gets a good audio track.

Perhaps it is lost, we should know when Shout Factory releases specific release details at a later date. Sadly, films we grew up on such as the original 1986 version of "the HITCHER" have been MIA (on Blu Ray) due to lost negatives or relevant materials to cull a fresh scan from. I felt that Vinegar Syndrome did an amazing 4K transfer for "Beastmaster" despite lacking camera negatives--lost to the sands of time and poor Management!

I feel like something is going on with this title. Shout has removed it from the Scream Factory "upcoming releases" list on the main page and searching on the site provides no results. If a person clicks on the "upcoming releases" list and then scrolls through august the film can still be found that way but the fact it has been removed from the main page leads me to believe that something is going on such as a lack of elements and that a delay is likely.

I think you're right, I can't find it on Target either. Hopefully it's a delay and not a cancellation!

Cannon reportedly butchered the uncut master film element into the R-rated theatrical cut and is the version available today. The uncut version possibly survives as a VHS workprint-like copy or John McNaughton may have a 35mm personal dupe.
