Default Best Kubrick Movie?

Sorry about all the polls...

A Clockwork Orange for me. An amazing film.

Out of the very few I've seen:

1. A Clockwork Orange - A+
2. 2001: A Space Odyssey - A-/A
3. The Shining - B-

Me too. I do love Full Metal Jacket, Dr. Strangelove, and 2001 almost equally as well.

Not a Kubrick fan.

Full Metal Jacket would be the only one I enjoyed

Well I'm sitting only a few feet away from my A Clockwork Orange poster. So I will go with that. Its a brilliant film that never gets old. The book is great as well. But really almost all of Kubrick's films are excellent.

I voted for FUll Metal Jacket, because I think it is a classic in posession of near limitless replay value. Not to mention the movie's infinte quotabilitly.

However, EYES WIDE SHUT is my personal favorite.

I desperately wish that Moloko Velocet was a beverage that restaurants/bars wouldn't look at me with harsh confusion and/or scrutiny when I try to order it.

I went with FULL METAL JACKET although 2001 is right on its heels. Glad I have both in my collection.

It's close, but I'll go with Clockwork. Good writing, good acting, excellent photography and sound, and very smart direction. "Dr. Strangelove" would have to be his worst that I've seen... certainly one of the most overrated movies of all time. A huge waste of the massive talent of Peter Sellers, I actually felt embarrassed for him when I saw him making such a fool of himself. Garbage production quality, campy screenplay, flat attempts at humor, and very dated and naive politics. It's like those awful Michael Moore films that got hyped-up just because their politics were popular.

OK, i see somebody actually voted for Fear and Desire, who and did you actually see it? If so how?

Kubrick pretty much successfully blocked any public showings of the movie for 30 odd years as he felt it not worthy and it has never been released on VHS/DVD, etc. So just wondering if anybody has actually seen it let along think it is good.

As far as my favorites,

1. Paths of Glory
2. ACO
3. Dr Strangelove
4. Shining
5. Full Metal Jacket
6. 2001
7. Lolita

It has been too long since I have seen Killers Kiss, Berry Lyndon or the Killings to really remember them. I didn't really care for Eye's wide shut and didn't like Sparticus at all.

And never seen Fear and Desire and never met anybody that had either.

Dr. Strangelove by far, full metal jacket rocks, but I just cant help laughing and smiling everytime I watch Strangelove, most of Kubricks films dont have alot of replay value, except for Strangelove and Jacket, I could maybe watch Clockwork once a year, 2001 I just dont get, Shining comes close, but not a huge Kubrick fan.

They're all awesome, but 2001 is on a completely different level. Dude had balls the size of grapefruits to make the movies he did.

No kidding. Making a movie like Lolita in 1962, it's utterly scandalous. All of his movies that I've seen are edgy and controversial.
