I came into a small amount of money and I thinking about finally upgrading to a 4K TV. My budget will be close to $700-$800 maybe a bit more. I'm looking at either Vizio 50" or TCL 50" with Dolby Vision, LG and Sony is out of my budget. I heard that right before the Super Bowl is a good time to buy because they are pushing for the big game. I'm not sure if Vizio offers OLED or not.

If there's a specific model you have your eyes on, you can check rtings.com and see what they wrote about it. They write a lot of reviews on TVs. Hope this helps.

Vizio top end out performs TCL top end.
That said I have a 40' TCL 5 series as a kitchen tv and its perfectly fine for that. I didn't do much research but from what I dd read over a year ago they make a solid budget tv vs a lot of the name brands. So while I'd take a higher end Vizio if I'm shopping mid range vs. mid range I'd take the TCL with Dolby etc. |
