Personally owning both systems I'm trying to see if anyone else agrees with what I have to say.
Of course both systems have their pro's and con's. One thing I've noticed though is that the Xbox 360 seems to have better looking games and a clearer picture. For instance, I've played Time Shift on both systems. I can tell a huge difference in graphics. On the PS3 it was almost unbearable to play. On the Xbox it was actually somewhat fun. Same with CoD4, graphics were way better on Xbox. Maybe it's just me, not trying to say Xbox is better or the PS3 is horrible, just wondering why there's such a difference between the two. But of course my Xbox doesn't play Blu-Ray. Any others agree? ![]() |

I also own both the PS3 and the Xbox 360, I personally haven't noticed any real difference in the graphics between the two, for me however the fact that the PS3 has built in Wi-Fi (I really dont want to fork up $99 to microsoft to make use of my Wireless Router) and the online service is free has me putting in more hours of the PS3 as opposed to the Xbox 360.

Funny that you say Call of Duty 4 is better on the XBOX 360 when Infinity Ward themselves say the graphics are better on the PS3 and they developed the game. Maybe you need to adjust the settings on your PS3, go into Display Settings and set RGB to full and turn the Super White on. You should see a big difference.

I'd really want to compare the two in terms of games common to the two systems, but my 360 is currently dead right now (RROD). Anyway, I liked the 360 games very much. Gears of War was really awesome. It took a while for any good game to come out for the PS3, but I think it's getting there. Game developers took a while to get used to the design kit. In terms of graphics, I think both systems are about the same, granted I used Component for 360 and HDMI for PS3. I think both hardware can spit out killer graphics so the PQ all depends on how they're encoded in the game.
My thinking is that when game developers get used to the PS3, it's going to far surpass the 360. Remember that PS3 hasn't even reached it's peak yet. Metal Gear 4 is going to be awesome!!! |

I own both consoles.
I played Virtua Tennis 3, Playstation 3 looks better especially the digitized pictures... Dirt also plays smoother on the PS3. My opinion about both consoles, PS3 has better graphics especially in the 1080p department... PS3 has faster response, better HD playing capabitlity compare to 360 HD-DVD add-on, better surround sound... PS3 can handle a lot of things going on at once... games are more lively and realistic due to the Cell processor. I do admit that 360 has better on-line capability on their games then PS3 but that's all... |

I have both systems, but only have COD4 on PS3. I did play COD4 on a friends 360 and have to disagree because the PS3 is definately better. Timeshift I believe was originally a 360 game and problably was just ported over to the PS3.

Oh and I also think the PS3 has faster charging times as well...
![]() About the 360, I can't stand that the "X" button is too close to the "start" button. When I'm playing a fighting game, you need to be precise and the "start" button has messed me up a few times at critical moments. ![]() |

I had my 360 for 1 1/2 years and it got the RROD late Dec. so the second I got the "refurb" back, I immediately went to gamestop and got a 60GB PS3. LOVE IT!!! My 360 was through componant and I have my PS3 through HDMI, so obviously it looks better. NHL08 is outstanding!!!! Some of the best graphics for a sports game. Can't wait till Rainbow Six Vegas 2 in March!!! One thing I have noticed is that game load times are a bit longer than 360, but that all comes with time, firmware, better game developement, etc. Another thing to think about is 360 is a standard DVD drive which limits game developers. Just wait till those same developers start to maximize all 50GB of the BD!!! Then we are talkin some serious games!!
Plus the bluray part rules. I had a Sammy 1200, but that was a piece of SH#$ so I returned that, traded in my 360, got the PS3 and still had money left over!! ![]() |

The PS3 is better because Blu-ray for one thing Plus grand theft auto IV will be better on PS3. I have to say the 360 has one game that I truly love and thats gears of war but the PS3 has UNCHARTED. Grand Theft Auto IV will be the knock out game this year for PS3 along with MGS4.

And I think the PS3 vs XBox 360 battle has obvious arguments. XBox guys are going to play the games, sales, and Live cards, whilst PS3 guys are going to pull the Blu-Ray, build quality, and multi-functionality cards. I have always been a Playstation and Nintendo guy, partially because of my love of Japanese games. It's entirely personal preference, but I prefer Metal Gear Solid, Final Fantasy, and Gran Turismo to Halo, Bioshock, and Gears of War. I also try to limit the amount of Microsoft product in my house. The worst part of the whole "vs." thing is that the 360 guys always have to attack Sony or PS3 anytime the topic remotely comes up. I'll admit the PS3, up to this point, has gotten the short end of the stick when it comes to development. However, I think you'll see that is already beginning to change as the PS3 continues with its Q4'07 momentum. I think we'll also find developers begin largely using the PS3 as the lead platform for multi-platform games as they perfect their PS3 engine. I'd be so bold as to predict that by 2011-2012 the PS3 will have proved to be the best console in a number of ways. I believe Microsoft knows this, and that's why they are already beginning development on the next console. Last edited by cking2729; 01-23-2008 at 02:51 PM. |
