Anybody have any info about this? Will there be a 4K version too to go along with the other Nolan catalog titles?

Nice to hear this is finally going back in print.

Was kinda hoping the Lionsgate version going OOP meant Criterion could get the rights, but even if it’s a reissue if the 2010 version it will be well worth owning.

Is the 2010 US release meant to be the best? I recently bought the German one (It has the 'Chronological Edit' of the movie in HD, AFAIK)

My Blu-ray doesn’t have the chronological edit, but the DVD release had it. Several of the bonus features on the DVD didn’t make it to BD.

Never understood the need for chronological, the movie works as is, I mean do people prefer it?

it's a nice bonus, obviously the preferred way to watch it, is the original edit

I was happy to try it when the SE dvd came out that had it. I've since watched the movie 3-4 times, all the original way. It's worth seeing, but plays better and is much more interesting in original form, IMO of course.

It's not that it's the right way to watch it; it isn't.

However, watching it 'in the right order' gives you a completely different view of what's happening and what's motivating people.

Natalie is a far more sympathetic character. I had a completely different view of her after watching the chronological version.

Watching it gets you thinking about the film in different ways, in the same way that you might have a different view of a film after discussing it with a friend, reading an interview with the director, or listening to a good commentary.

In turn this leads you to re-watch the film in a different light.

As such it's a quite excellent extra.

Interesting. I did not know there was a "chronological" edit. One of the aspects that draws me to this movie is the order in which it's in.

That was literally the entire point of the movie. I honestly don't see the point of a chronological edit. It would basically spoil the whole thing in my view. Now I guess if you've seen this movie dozens of times, as I have, maybe it would be an interesting alt take or something. But I've never been compelled to see it.

Unfortunately if i ever had that edition on DVD I probably don't have it anymore.

The chronological cut is a great watch, well worth seeing after you see the movie the regular way. It's obviously not the way the movie is intended to be seen, which is why it's more of an extra, or even a hidden and elaborate Easter egg on the old DVD edition. Don't knock it until you've seen it.

The chronological version gave me many "ahhhh, I seeeeee" moments when I watched it. Helped me understand what was going on more clearly, even after a few viewings of the normal version. It helped fully realize the genius of the movie.

Yep, there are some really interesting moments when you see it in order.

Since you haven't seen it, then you can't really appreciate it.

It provides a perspective on the actual events that you simply won't pick up even after a couple viewings of the "normal" way.

It is like listening to a commentary track, it gives insight you won't get just by watching what the director presented as the final product. without a deep analysis your average viewer isnt' going to get.

I agree with AgentOrange.

The non-chronological narrative is the single trait that made Memento a contemporary classic. It goes hand-in-hand with the lead character's medical condition, and relates to the themes of memory and perception. It's not a hyperbole to say that it's the point of the film. Not sure how the chronological edit is anything but a curio. One doesn't need to actually watch this other version to realize that it's, therefore, pointless.
