Kino have just announced plans to release Throw Momma from the Train (1987) on 4K!

I remember seeing this on cable long, long ago. I don’t remember much about it at all.

Anyone seen it recently? Wondering how it’s aged.

I would think it aged fine. IDR anything that may have caused issues today (IIRC other than modern conveniences like no cell phones and such. Why is he still using a typewriter? Lol). A pretty simplistic story-wise. I haven’t seen it in years, but I’m looking forward to it.

I watched it when the Blu came out in 2011 and it held up well. I seem to recall it looking better than the rating I gave it in my review at this site, but that was 14 years ago on a different TV.

One of my favorite movies of all time! Still holds up. Still as funny as ever. Been watching it since i was 8 or so. It wasn't until high school when I saw the movie that it's a "remake" of and as soon as they got to the "criss-cross" line in the original, I about had a heart attack. This movie is so quotable.

"Looks like we foiled them again!" said Dave.
"Yeah" said the Captain. "We foiled those bastards again. Didn't we Dave?"
"Yeah, said Dave."

I liked it when it was released; I was 14. I watched it again last year, and my opinion of it has definitely changed quite a bit. Happy for the fans, of course.

I loved this movie as a kid for some reason. I had it on VHS and watched it all of the time. Didn't predict a 4K but I guess I'll have to snag it for nostalgia sake.

Well now I don't have to buy the old crappy Blu-Ray with the really bad art that screams 2010s Blu-Ray art so bad. Like I just saw the old Blu-Ray releases of this film, and the art is just awful.

Very happy about this one. I actually saw Throw Momma From The Train in the theater with my dad when I was eight years old.

I just passed the one year mark since he died and I'm always thinking about things like the movies we went to when I was a kid. This announcement just brought that memory back of going to see this at the Westview theater and then visiting my grandparents(his parents) after the movie.

Looking forward to picking this up
